Out and about

So Erik and I somehow took on a busy schedule this summer. Erik landed a job with a business consulting group at Newport, and I continued on my internship at J. Medical Center on top of research at Glabe Lab that I just recently started. So with at most two days that I spend at my internship and 3 days at UCI for research, plus Erik working three-full day we are rarely home. As much as possible we try to spend as much time with each other (sometimes too much), making the most of our summer, while being productive before school burns us out again. So last Saturday Erik and I got two shades darker at Soak City with mi familia and today we spontaneously took a trip to Santa Monica.

Soak City was fun but we were able to finish all the water rides in two hours (i forgot how small it was). Nevertheless, I actually got darker which was my ultimate goal so that’s good. Soak City got boring after a while, and it got too crowded for such a small water park so ice cream at Farrell’s sounded better.

Today (Mon, July 28) was a spontaneous date, he planned on taking me to the aquarium but I told him that I didn’t want him to spend so much money so instead he took me to Santa Monica. A whole day at Santa Monica and Third St. Promenade only required 22 dollars! We’ve been doing well with not spending so much money lately. 22 dollars got us two bacon wrapped hot dogs, a full day parking, iced coffee, and two sweet dollar tea. Rides and games at the pier kinda got over-rated and it was too hot so we spent most of our day at the Third St. Promenade and window shopped. As boring as it sounds it was actually pretty darn fun. From finding grumpy cat items, drooling over tesla cars, and strolling the street with foreigners… it was another great day with Okazaki fragment.
